WHALE MAKES BIG SPLASH AT CV SHOW
Whale Tankers are using this year’s CV Show to highlight their broadening product range, growing used vehicle activities and continuing development of their replacement parts operation. In addition, a rising star of the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) will also be paying a visit to their stand (Stand 3240, Hall 3) at the NEC Birmingham, 24-26th April.
The exhibits on display at this year’s show emphasise how product innovation, geared to meet changing customer application needs, continues to be at the heart of the continuing Whale success story.
The Kaiser-Whale - a sewer cleaning Jet-Vac machine which features continuous water recycling - makes its show debut. One of four vehicles ordered by the Anglian Water Group (AWG), the Kaiser Whale takes a totally new approach to heavy duty jetting machine applications using recycled water.
The specialist 26 tonne GVW machine, mounted on a Volvo FM9 6x2 chassis, recycles the water it uses during jetting operations, maximising time spent on site working and thereby minimising time spent off it taking on supplies of fresh water.
Also featured on the stand is a Kilo-Whale High Volume Combination, poised to enter service with Industrial Water Jetting Systems. The fourth Whale product to be supplied within the last 12 months to the Bury St Edmunds-based specialist company, the Kilo-Whale can remove waste from up to 30 metres depth by means of its powerful vacuum pump in combination with a high performance jetting pump.
Whale continues to develop key strategic alliances with leading suppliers and manufacturers in specialist sectors, and this is further underlined by the announcement of a partnership agreement with Econ engineering which will see the two vehicle manufacturers working together on future demountable system applications.
Replacement parts is an integral part of the Whale customer support proposition and Whale are highlighting this by offering a 7.5% discount on all spare parts ordered at this year’s CV Show.
With a direct link from the stand to the factory, as well as being able to take advantage of this special promotional discount, visitors can also see the wide range of parts now stocked by Whale Tankers, which amount to over £2.5m in value at retail prices.
Whale is able to provide parts support right across the product range, as demonstrated by the latest stock items – a range of nozzles from specialist manufacturer Enz. Sourced specifically for the new Kaiser-Whale product, they join an extensive range of parts which can be despatched from the central parts “hub” at Whale’s Ravenshaw facility on next day delivery, throughout the UK.
Parts support is further augmented by a range of frequently requested parts, which is carried by a fleet of 17 customer support vans operating nationwide. One of these customer support vehicles is featured on the stand at the show.
Whale have taken advantage of their proximity to the NEC – Ravenshaw is just 3 miles away – to demonstrate other aspects of its product and support proposition, viewed by many customers and suppliers as they take advantage of Whale’s “Park and Ride” scheme in operation during the show.
Several models from the JetTec range - including the HotJet T3h, the HotJet 750 tdh and VanPack are on display at the scenic Ravenshaw site. A dedicated division of Whale Tankers, JetTec sells and supports a range of trailer and van mounted diesel powered hot water jetting machines under the HotJet brand throughout the UK.
Manufactured in Germany by Falch gmbh, the HotJet range combines performance and reliability of specialist heavy duty equipment with sales and in-service support from the UK’s leading manufacturer of vacuum tankers for waste applications.
As well as producing new vehicles, Whale’s headquarters in Solihull is also increasingly the place where operators are coming if they are looking to source a quality second hand machine, or if they have a piece of Whale equipment that they are looking to dispose of.
Whale regularly keeps a selection of quality used tankers available for sale; many have been through an extensive programme of maintenance and refurbishment and a number of examples of “reborn” Whales are on display at Ravenshaw throughout the CV Show week.
Also likely to grab the attention of visitors is the car that British Champion Mat Jackson is driving in this season’s British Touring Car Championship. Mat, who won the British Seat Cupra Championship in 2006 with record results, continues his sponsorship from Whale in 2007 with the Jacksons’ Motorsport team running the actual car - a BMW 320SI E90 - that won the 2006 World Touring Car Championship.
25 year old Mat has already made a massive impact on the championship this year, taking a podium position in third place in the very first round of the season at Brands Hatch. Already he is being tipped as a championship contender.
Fresh from competing in the second round of the BTCC at Rockingham over the weekend, Mat will be on hand on the Whale stand where he will be making the prize draw on each of three days of the show. Daily prizes up for grabs include race tickets for a BTCC event, Whale Polo shirts and leader hoses.
Speaking at the show, Whale Tankers Managing Director Mark Warmington said, “Our presence at this year’s CV Show highlights the continuing development of our product range, our parts and service support and the strategic partnerships with key suppliers.
Taken together, this demonstrates our determination to provide our customers with reliability, service and value for life.”
